Nephrology Fellowship Training Program

Katz Family Division of Nephrology and Hypertension

The Katz Family Division of Nephrology and Hypertension provides world-class, comprehensive clinical care to patients with all forms of acute and chronic kidney diseases, and maintains one of the nation’s busiest center for kidney transplantation.

The University of Miami Nephrology Fellowship Training Program is dedicated to preparing the next generation of nephrologists to deliver compassionate, comprehensive, and evidence-based care to a highly diverse patient population.

Goals and Philosophy of the Nephrology Fellowship Training Program

Fellows gain extensive clinical experience across the full spectrum of nephrology, including inpatient and outpatient consultations, acute and chronic dialysis, management of chronic kidney disease, and long-term care of renal transplant recipients.

In addition, the program provides the structured educational foundation necessary for success in achieving Board Certification in Nephrology. For those with academic aspirations, fellows are offered individualized mentorship and opportunities to pursue careers in clinical investigation, medical education, or basic science research.

The philosophy of the program is rooted in a commitment to excellence in patient care, scholarship, and teaching, all fostered within a culture of professionalism and collaboration. Our goal is to develop not only highly skilled clinicians, but also future leaders who will advance the field of nephrology through innovation, discovery, and education.
