Research Focus

We study the molecular biology of homeostasis and how adverse environment may have acute or chronic effects on the tissue function and molecular biology. Within this context, drugs (like chemotherapy or radiotherapy) may cure the underlying disease but can have long-term effects by rewiring the epigenome of homeostatic responses. Our overall goal is to characterize the interplay among multiple layers of molecular biology and physiology, including the epigenome, the transcriptome and the metabolome, from a systems and network biology perspective and using computational and bioinformatic tools and machine learning algorithms.
