Enrollment for classes in a non-degree-seeking status is on a space-available basis. Non-degree students are responsible for meeting any requirements for the class (pre-requisites, co-requisites, etc.). Enrollment in graduate medical courses is limited for non-degree-seeking students. Before submitting a non-degree application, contact the graduate program coordinator for the program you are interested in taking courses for advisement. They will also be the point of contact for the registration of approved non-degree students.
Applicants requesting non-degree status in the Miller School of Medicine must meet the criteria below:
- Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Are a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or valid visa holder (Non-degree seeking students do not qualify for student visas nor financial aid)
- TOEFL/IELTS test scores are required for students whose first language is not English (Students who have earned 30 credits or more at an English-speaking/teaching institution are exempt from this requirement)
- Approval from the Office of Graduate Studies and the graduate program of interest
- Non-degree-seeking students can enroll in a lifetime maximum of 15 credits
