Biography
Dr. Zubair Ansari is a fellowship trained, comprehensive ophthalmologist with a specific focus on cataract and complex anterior segment surgeries. He is experienced in the implantation of astigmatism and presbyopia correcting intraocular lenses as well as performs state-of-the-art, minimally invasive, glaucoma microshunt procedures.
Dr. Ansari completed his residency training here at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and went on to complete an academic global ophthalmology fellowship at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, both considered to be the nation’s premier training centers. During this time, he received numerous accolades, including the Lee Family Community Service Award for his humanitarian efforts and the Wills Eye Hospital “Fellow of the Year Award” for exemplary teaching.
Throughout his training and career, Dr. Ansari’s primary focus has been global ophthalmology -working to combat the ever-growing prevalence of blindness and visual impairment in resource-poor communities. Dr. Ansari coordinates volunteer experiences for the residents, and is currently working to build collaborations with NGOs, charitable institutions, physicians and researchers, to provide humanitarian, surgical, and medical aid around the world. -
