Dr. Zenaida Reyes Tauscher is an Assistant Professor in Clinical Pediatrics in the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine specializing in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. She obtained her Medical Degree from the University of the Philippines Manila, College of Medicine and completed her Pediatric Residency training at UP-Philippine General Hospital. In the US, she completed her Pediatrics Residency at Beth Israel Medical Center-Albert Einstein School of Medicine and fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at the University of Miami/Jackson Health System. She practiced as a clinical neonatologist for 19 years at Home Hospital, Union Hospital and Peyton Manning Childrens’ Hospital in Indiana.
Currently, Dr. Tauscher practices as an academic neonatologist at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine where she instructs medical students, pediatric residents and neonatology fellows. She serves as the course director of the advanced clinical elective in neonatology for phase 3 medical students. Her research interests include neonatal mechanical ventilation and respiratory support, oxygen saturations and intermittent hypoxia, neonatal resuscitation and neonatal nutrition. She has been involved in several international and national multicenter trials.
