Biography
Yan Guo, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and director of the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Shared Resource at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. He also serves as chief of biostatistics and bioinformatics research innovation at Sylvester.
Dr. Guo holds a doctoral degree in computer science with a concentration in bioinformatics from the University of South Carolina. His research expertise includes multi-omics integration, statistical modeling, and artificial intelligence applications in environmental and cancer epidemiology. His work has contributed to advancing understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying disease progression and the impact of environmental exposures.
Before joining the University of Miami, Dr. Guo held academic and leadership appointments at institutions including the University of New Mexico and Vanderbilt University. He has participated in numerous high-impact research initiatives and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. He is also an active member of several professional organizations and has served on editorial boards and conference committees. -

I have substantial experience with NIH-funded projects and have served as a bioinformatician on more than 40 NIH-funded grants, including SPORE in lung, breast, and gastrointestinal cancers. cancers. My research has been focused on the development of bioinformatics methodology and analysis for genomic studies, and I have published more than 200 manuscripts in related fields. -
