Biography
Dr Yamilé Blain is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology at the University of Miami – Miller School of Medicine; she joined the faculty rank after having completed two fellowships in abdominal and oncology imaging at the University of Miami/Jackson Health System.
Her clinical and research interests span imaging of the liver, the female pelvis and organ transplantation. Her work has been presented at regional, national and international scientific meetings including the Florida Radiological Society (FRS), the Society of Abdominal Radiology (SAR), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) and the European Society of Urogenital Radiology (ESUR).
Besides her academic work, Dr Blain is committed to improving access to quality healthcare for underserved communities. She engages with the local community through her participation in the Department of Community Service (DOCS) health fairs throughout South Florida. She is a passionate advocate for the integration of radiology in global health efforts and remains actively involved with international organizations working towards improving radiology education and capacity building notably in her home country Haiti and Africa.
At the University of Miami, she is dedicated to upholding academic excellence through her clinical work, research and mentorship of medical students, residents and fellows. -
