Xi Steven Chen, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He leads the Translational Statistical Bioinformatics Lab, which integrates data science and statistical methods with genomic research to advance understanding of cancer and other complex diseases.
Dr. Chen has directed multiple National Institutes of Health–funded research projects focused on gene expression, proteomics, and DNA methylation data in cancer. He has authored more than 170 peer-reviewed publications and collaborates extensively with biologists and clinicians to identify biomarkers, improve predictions of treatment response, and translate genomic discoveries into patient care.
His research centers on multi-omics methods, biomarker discovery, and predictive modeling, with the goal of advancing precision medicine.
