Research Interests
1. Glomerular Disease
- CureGN: Cure Glomerulonephropathy is a longitudinal multicenter cohort study national collaborative study of patients with glomerular disease (GD) funded by the NIDDK-NIH. I am honored to work collaboratively with many experts. The study aims to advance the diagnosis and care of patients with GD, a rare kidney disease without curative therapy but resulting in poor outcomes including end stage kidney disease. Additionally, I participate in Pediatric Nephrology Research Consortium (PNRC) study to determine the outcome of children with lupus nephritis who required renal replacement therapy as well as established a study to provide early diagnosis of WT-1 glomerulopathy, a rare diagnosis but related with serious outcomes including malignancy and poor kidney function. Furthermore, I have been Investigator to study the efficacy, and safety of a novel medication, Sparsentan, a dual endothelin receptor and angiotensin receptor blocker for children with proteinuric GD.
2. Childhood Hypertension
I have been worked closely with Pediatric cardiologist to determine the association of high blood pressure with cardiovascular remodeling in children with and without CKD. i also organize the 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring to provide a thorough investigation and optimal treatment for these patients.
3. Metabolic Bone Disease in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD-MBD)
I have particularly interested in the alterations of mineral and hormonal metabolism which can cause poor longitudinal growth and early cardiovascular disease in children. At the time, the optimal guideline for treatment remains not certain. -
