Biography
Dr. Siddharthan received his undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident, and fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Between his internal medicine training and clinical fellowship, he conducted research in East Africa as a Fulbright Scholar and Fogarty Global Health Fellow. He is a diplomate in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine and a fellow in the American College of Chest Physicians.
Dr. Siddharthan’s clinical expertise includes advanced therapies and diagnostics for COPD and asthma including functional imaging, biologic therapy, and endobronchial valve evaluation. He sees patients at the University of Miami Center for COPD and Asthma Care and Research and attends on the critical care services at the University of Miami Hospital and Jackson Memorial Hospital. -

Teaching Interests
Dr. Siddharthan’s teaching interests include the pathology, physiology and treatment of obstructive lung disease, as well as global chronic respiratory disease management and control. He has lectured at John’s Hopkins School of Medicine, Bloomberg School of Public Health and the Miller School of Medicine. He additionally lectures internationally, as part of the American Thoracic Society MECOR program in India. -
Research Interests
Dr. Siddharthan’s lab focuses on the global burden of COPD and disease management, as well as functional assessments of ventilation and perfusion in COPD. He has over 50 publications in journals such as the Journal of the American Medical Association, Lancet Respiratory Medicine, and the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Medicine, and has contributed to book chapters including the U.S Surgeon General’s Report on Smoking Cessation. He has been awarded funding from the National Institutes of Health, the CHEST Foundation, and the Department of Defense to support his research activities over the past decade. -
