Biography
Teresa Maria Rosaria Noviello, PhD, is a research assistant professor in the Division of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics within the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She previously served as a postdoctoral fellow in the Ceccarelli Lab at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Dr. Noviello earned her doctoral degree in bioinformatics and computational biology from the University of Sannio in Benevento, Italy. She also holds a master’s degree in genetic science and technology and a bachelor’s degree in biology. Her academic training includes postdoctoral research appointments at the University of Naples Federico II and the University of Sannio, as well as service as an adjunct professor of computational biology.
Her research focuses on the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms that influence cancer immune responsiveness, with particular emphasis on the role of noncoding DNA and RNA. In a recent Nature Communications publication, Dr. Noviello conducted a multi-omics longitudinal analysis of patients with advanced melanoma enrolled in a clinical trial, identifying key molecular features associated with immunotherapy response and resistance.
Dr. Noviello’s long-term research goals center on advancing cancer immunotherapy through computational approaches, including the development of tumor maps at single-cell resolution. She is committed to fostering collaboration between clinicians and researchers and to translating computational discoveries into clinically meaningful applications. -
