Tasuku Akiyama, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Dr. Phillip Frost Department of Dermatology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He obtained his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Toyama University and pursued postdoctoral training in the Department of Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior at UC Davis. Dr. Akiyama was a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow and the recipient of a K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award from NIAMS. He received the Ronald Dubner Research Award from International Association for the Study of Pain. He serves on the section editor of Neurodermatology and Itch for Acta-Dermato-Venereologica.
