  Originally from Trinidad & Tobago, Dr. Prince received her BS in Biology from Morgan State University in 2004, and her DPT from the University of Miami in 2007. She held clinical positions as an acute care physical therapist at Memorial Regional Hospital and UHealth, seeing patients in the ICU, telemetry and medical-surgical units. She also treated both pediatric and adult patients as a Certified Wound Specialist. She returned to UM as a supplemental instructor in 2016 assisting in the Integumentary course in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program, before opting to start her PhD studies, during which she also became course master and teaching assistant for other courses. She completed her PhD in Physical Therapy from the University of Miami in May 2024 and joined the faculty in a full-time role as Assistant Professor of Clinical Physical Therapy in June 2024.

• Teaching Interests

  In the professional (DPT) program, Dr. Prince interests revolve around content related to professional behaviors. She teaches courses in Clinical Reasoning/Clinical Decision Making and Essential Skills. She is course coordinator for one of the Medical Pathology Seminars and is a Clinical Education Coordinator. She also supports the Integumentary, Cardiopulmonary PT, and other courses.

  Dr. Prince's research interests are in effective patient education strategies, physical activity adherence, health disparities and physical therapy education.
