Dr. Su Liu is a Research Assistant Professor in Urology and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Miami, jointly affiliated with the Department of Neurology and The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. Her research focuses on developing multimodal neurobiomarkers to improve clinical diagnosis of neurological disorders and advancing brain-computer interface (BCI) and neuromodulation technologies for motor rehabilitation. Her work aims to enhance the reliability and translational potential of invasive and non-invasive EEG for applications in epilepsy and BCIs, ultimately informing precision, closed-loop neuromodulation strategies for restoring motor function.
Dr. Liu earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, where she developed automated algorithms for detecting high-frequency neural biomarkers, and completed her postdoctoral training at Stanford University School of Medicine, investigating the physiological and pathological significance of high-frequency brain activity.
