Professor Davis is a professor in the Department of Dermatology & Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami. He has over 38 years experience using various wound healing and infection models in swine. He works with a large number of companies in research and development of various products that are on the market today, e.g. . Puraply AM, Aqucael Ag, Kerlix AMD, Iodoflex, DuoDerm dressing, Liquid Bandage, Procellera, Prontosan, MediHoney, Purcyn, DuoDerm, Iodosorb, . He has several book chapters and over 100 published articles and abstracts on wound healing and infection. He is currently on the editorial advisory board for the journal Wounds and a reviewer for the several journals including Journal of Clinical and Experimental Dermatology, British of Dermatology, Wound Repair & Regeneration. Some of his interests include: occlusive therapy, electrical stimulation, low energy light therapy and bacterial biofilm formation. Over the years he has been PI or co-PI of grants totaling over $26M and has been funded by DARPA, Canadian Defense, US Army, Office of Naval Research, NIH and NSF.
