Biography
Dr. Shiyu Luo currently works as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
After receiving her PhD degree, Dr. Luo worked as a visiting scientist at the Division of Genetics, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center focusing on mitochondrial medicine. In 2019, Dr. Luo joined Dr. Pankaj Agrawal’s laboratory at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School as a postdoctoral researcher. -

Research Interests
Dr. Luo’s research interest is focused on novel gene discovery for severe pediatric disease and disease biology studies using applicable cellular and animal models. Her current research focuses on investigating the disease mechanism of neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs), by applying multi- and spatial omics approaches with a goal to find a cure for treating these rare diseases. -
