He spent 2.5 years at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln serving as Lecturer and Research Fellow before joining the Chinese Academy of Sciences in March 2016 as an Associate Professor. In May 2017, He joined the Cardiovascular Biomechanics and Biology lab at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) as a postdoctoral research fellow, focusing on the patient-specific computational simulation of bifurcation stenting. He was promoted to instructor in February 2021 at UNMC. In January 2023, he joined the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami as a Research Assistant Professor, with his primary research emphasis on biomechanics and cardiovascular device.
Research Interests: Dr. Zhao’s research expertise lies in biomechanics and cardiovascular device development using both computational and experimental methods. He is particularly interested in developing multi-scale/multi-physics models to study the initiation and progression of vascular diseases, including restenosis, aneurysm, coarctation, etc. -
