Dr. Hayes has been recognized for her leadership in Physical Therapy Education for many years, and has served as Past President of the Education section, APTA (now Academy of Physical Therapy Education), as well as Member-at-Large for Professional Development. Her clinical research interests have been in the areas of stroke, traumatic brain injury, and women's health, as well as the history of higher education, faculty development, curriculum assessment, and student debt.
