Dr. Shari Messinger Ph.D. is a Professor and Director of the Division of Biostatistics, as well as Director of the Biostatistics Collaboration and Consulting Core, in the Department of Public Health Sciences. She has been a member of the Biostatistics Faculty at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine since 2002, after earning her Doctorate in Biostatistics from the University of Michigan. She has served as the Director of Biostatistics for the former GCRC, the Director of the Biostatistics Core of the Diabetes Research Institute, and currently serves as Director of the Research Design and Biostatistics Component of the Miami Clinical and Translational Science Institute.
Dr. Messinger’s research has focused mainly within the area of Diabetes research. She has extensive knowledge and experience in application of appropriate statistical methodology, and has expertise in clinical trial design and analysis as well as observational research investigations.
Dr. Messinger is responsible for directing all operations of the core. She oversees the operations and administrative functions of core staff and/or Faculty, maintains support and quality standards, and promotes the usage and marketing of the core support activities. Her expertise/role and commitment provides scientific direction of the facility.
