  I am senior faculty in Neonatology and am responsible for the duties listed above. Adminstratively, I assist the division director as needed and serve as liaison to OB, Holtz administration, and several other services we collaborative with, most recently with the newly reorganized Fetal Surgery program. I have a significant track record with multicenter research, mostly NIH-funded, and am still active in collaborative research. Quality and benchmarking are natural outgrowths of my activties, and I am the center PI for two international collaboratives, the Vermont-Oxford Neonatal Registry (NICU) and ELSO (Holtz)

• Teaching Interests

  I teach clinical Neonatology to medical students, Pediatric & Med-Peds residents, and Neonatology Fellows. I run the divison’s QI program, and in that role guide junior faculty, fellows and NICU staff into suitable projects. As medical director of a NICU, Infection Control is central to good outcomes, and has been a cornerpiece of my role overthe past several years - with the Covid pandemic, I became the leader of the NICU response and helped develop guidelines for the institution. Researchwise this led to collaboration with OB as well as other divisions in Pediatrics, and both publications and grant appilcations have ensued from these efforts.

  I continuee to be active in multidisciplinary and multicenter research as it relates to sick neonates; at this time, perinatal Covid-19 is driving several of the active projects.
