Biography
I'm currently an Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital (UM). In my early academic career, I received DMRD and M.D. Radiology from the University of Bombay, India and thereafter I pursued further education from St Luke’s Medical Center Milwaukee, WI. I am triple boarded by 1) “American Board of Radiology”, 2) “American Board of Nuclear Medicine: and 3) “American Board of Nuclear Cardiology”. I am a US citizen and joined UM in July 1991. I was promoted to Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology in July 2004. Currently, I am affiliated with Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami Hospital & Clinics, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, UHealth Tower, Lennar Medical Center, UHealth Deerfield Medical Center and Plantation Medical Center. I am a member of The Society of Nuclear Medicine, the Radiologic Society of North America, the Disaster and Emergency Preparedness/Jackson Health Center and the University of Miami Radiation Safety Committee. I also participate in divisional Residency Committee and Protocol committee. I served as a Director of Nuclear Medicine Residency Program at the University of Miami/Miller School of Medicine from July 1, 2007 – June 30, 2013. I was selected as an Abstract Reviewer by the Society of Nuclear Medicine Annual Meeting. I also served as an advisor to Radiology residents and students of “School of Nuclear Medicine Technology at UM for several years. A radiology resident was awarded first Prize at the “Radiology Resident’s Day” presentation and a technology student was awarded third prize at the Annual Meeting of the Florida Society of Nuclear Medicine in Orlando, Florida. I presented at the National meeting twenty-three times and moderated the sessions four times. I was invited as a guest lecturer six times. I was awarded as "America’s Best Doctors" and “America's Top Physicians” by the Consumer Research Council of America. -

Teaching Interests
Being on a “Clinical Tract”, my interests lie predominantly in patient care and teaching. I am actively involved in both diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Radiology as well as Nuclear Cardiology. I am actively involved in the state-of-the-art tumor imaging PET/CT and participate in various cancer therapies including thyroid, neuroendocrine and prostate cancers. I am actively involved in teaching radiology and cardiology fellows, residents and medical students by giving them didactic lectures, board review lectures and daily one on one reading sessions. I have created several “You tube videos” in “Nuclear Cardiology” and “Molecular PET/CT Imaging” for the “University of Miami”. I also actively participate in Multidisciplinary thoracic tumor board conferences throughout the year. I was a “Director of Nuclear Medicine Residency Program” at the “University of Miami/Miller School of Medicine” from July 1, 2007 – June 30, 2013. -
Research Interests
Currently, I am participating in Phase II Trial of Radium 223 Dichloride in combination with PACLITAX in Patients with Metastatic Bone Cancer. Sub-investigator Study NIH 20201046: 10302/CALFA PI: Dr. Calfa M.D. In the past, I have submitted 37 abstracts, involved in 17 Journal articles and exhibitions, and participated in 37 research projects in both adult and pediatric population covering a wide spectrum including cardiac, renal, breast, tumors, HIV/AIDS, dosimetry, safety evaluation etc.. -
