Dr. Sebastian P. Fuchs is a faculty member in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He completed his doctoral studies through a joint graduate program (GRK1071) established between Harvard Medical School and the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany, where he earned his doctoral degree in natural sciences. Dr. Fuchs further developed his career as a Postdoctoral Researcher and later as an Assistant Scientist at the University of Miami, where he has been affiliated since 2013. His research focuses on translational immunotherapy and gene therapy for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases and immunological disorders. The primary aim of his work is to utilize adeno-associated viral (AAV) vectors for the prevention and treatment of AIDS virus infection.
