Biography
Dr. Sarah R. Stamler is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, specializing in breast imaging. She provides expert clinical care at the Lennar Foundation Medical Center and Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, where her practice encompasses mammography, breast ultrasound, MRI, and image-guided procedures.
Dr. Stamler earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from Barnard College at Columbia University before completing her medical degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She pursued a transitional year internship at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center in New York, followed by a diagnostic radiology residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. She then completed fellowship training in breast and oncologic imaging at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she developed advanced expertise in screening and diagnostic modalities for high-risk and complex breast cancer populations.
Her clinical and research interests include breast cancer screening strategies, stereotactic and MRI-guided biopsies, and optimization of breast imaging protocols. She has co-authored publications in high-impact journals such as Radiology, Medical Sciences, Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, and Brain Research. Her work has focused on topics ranging from stereotactic biopsy outcomes and breast MRI efficacy in high-risk populations to interventional techniques in oncology and neuroprotection research. In addition, she has presented abstracts and educational exhibits at national meetings, including the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
Dr. Stamler is a member of the Society of Breast Imaging, the American College of Radiology, and the American Board of Radiology. She is frequently invited to speak on advances in breast imaging, with national lectures covering cancer screening updates and evolving imaging technologies.
A dedicated educator, Dr. Stamler is actively involved in resident and fellow training at the University of Miami, where she emphasizes evidence-based, patient-centered approaches to breast imaging. She has also participated in educational outreach efforts, including serving on the Medical Advisory Board for the Health Information Project, a health education program for high school students.
Her commitment to community engagement is longstanding. She has volunteered through initiatives such as the University of Miami’s Department of Community Service (DOCS) program, providing screenings and health education to underserved South Florida communities. She has also served in leadership roles with the New York Roentgen Ray Society Resident Committee and the Radiology Association for Young Scholars (RAYS).
