Biography
Saladin Cooper, MD, returned back to academic medicine after serving as an obstetrician-gynecologist hospitalist in Davie, Florida, from April 2022 to October 2023. Prior to this, he held academic positions at the Morehouse School of Medicine OB/GYN Department in Atlanta, Georgia, and the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri OB/GYN Department
During his tenure at Morehouse School of Medicine, Dr. Cooper collaborated closely with both the graduate and undergraduate medical education departments while maintaining his clinical practice at Grady Medical Center. He completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, Kansas. He received his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine (formerly Hahnemann University School of Medicine) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Cooper holds a bachelor’s degree from Montclair State University in Upper Montclair, New Jersey.
Dr. Cooper’s previous professional experience encompasses private practice, obstetrician-gynecologist hospitalist positions, and community health center opportunities. He has found his true calling in academic medicine, where he thrives on the constant challenges and evolving landscape of the medical field.
Dr. Cooper derives great satisfaction from educating and mentoring future physicians, recognizing the invaluable role of mentorship in fostering professional growth. Additionally, Dr. Cooper has actively engaged in mentoring both undergraduate and graduate medical students, providing individualized and group tutoring for standardized examinations. He embraces the evolving roles of educator and learner to develop innovative and effective teaching methods. -
