  Dr. Schein received his medical education at the NYU School of Medicine and completed postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Miami. He is a fellow of American College of Chest Physicians as well as the Society of Critical Care Medicine. His research interests have included sepsis, acute lung injury and long-term outcomes of intensive care unit patients. He is Section Chief of Critical Care Medicine at the Miami VA Medical Center, and his clinical practice is dedicated to critical care medicine at that institution.
