Dr. Weisman is Associate Dean for Admissions & Enrollment and Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He is the Director of the Florida Poison Information Center – Miami at UM/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Weisman received his undergraduate training in Pharmacy at Temple University and his Doctorate in Clinical Pharmacy from Duquesne University. Dr. Weisman is Board Certified in Toxicology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology.
Dr. Weisman has over 25 years experience with medical school admissions and served as Chairman of the Miller School of Medicine Admissions Committee for 4 years before his appointment as Dean in 2009. Dr. Weisman has been an editor and author of Goldfrank’s Toxicologic Emergencies and has over 75 publications in the field of poison control and toxicology. Dr. Weisman is a Past President of the American Association of Poison Control Centers (AAPCC). Dr. Weisman is a recipient of France’s Distinguished Medal of Merit for his contributions to environmental toxicology and the World Health Organization.
