Biography
Dr. Ricardo Ismael Palmerola is a board-certified urologist specializing in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at the University of Miami Health System. He provides comprehensive urological care to patients across South Florida, practicing at UHealth locations in Miami, Doral, and Coral Gables. Dr. Palmerola focuses on treating complex urological conditions affecting both men and women. His clinical expertise includes the medical and surgical management of urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse (including cystocele, rectocele, and uterine prolapse), overactive bladder, and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). He is highly skilled in advanced procedures such as sacral neuromodulation, urodynamics, and artificial urinary sphincter implantation. After earning his medical degree from the Pennsylvania State College of Medicine, Dr. Palmerola completed his general surgery and urology residencies at Northwell Health's Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He further advanced his training with a specialized fellowship in Pelvic Reconstruction Surgery at the New York University School of Medicine. Dedicated to advancing patient care, Dr. Palmerola brings the latest research-informed treatments to his practice, including recent studies on weight management strategies for urinary incontinence.
