Teaching Interests
Throughout my professional life I have had the privilege of training medical students, residents and fellows, and my emphasis has always been on patient-centered care. It is important to teach the science, but it essential to teach the future generations of medical professionals that each patient is unique, and it is our responsibility to approach each one of them with respect and sensibility. I also have the goal of improving residents’ education experience, by helping to create a structured and comprehensive rotation in which the trainees feel supported and have easy access to all the resources needed in order to thrive. -
Research Interests
I am interested in studying breast cancer as a heterogeneous disease with very distinct biological behaviors. By better understanding those differences it is possible to provide more tailored, individualized and effective breast cancer screening strategies and breast cancer care. My current research focus is on the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) in breast imaging, and the preoperative evaluation of axillary lymph nodes in patients with early-stage breast cancer. My future projects include the utilization of radiomics to predict treatment response in patients with breast cancer undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy, and evaluation of ultrafast breast MRI. -
