Biography
Mohammed Raja, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Raja completed his medical school from Gulf Medical University in the U.A.E. He then completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, following which he pursued a fellowship in Infectious Diseases and subsequently Transplant Infectious Diseases at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital and is currently serving as faculty. His clinical practice and research efforts are focused on transplant infectious diseases at the University of Miami Hospital as well as Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, with a primary focus on infections in post-hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients as well as invasive fungal infections. He has authored several papers on the impact and clinical outcomes of COVID-19 infection in both solid organ transplant as well as hematopoietic stem cell recipients as well as breakthrough invasive fungal infections among high-risk cancer patients. He is an active member of the American Society of Transplantation and Cellular Therapy’s special interest group in Infectious Diseases (ID-SIG). -
