Miriam A. Osei, M.D., M.P.H. is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Assistant Section Chief for Inherited Hemoglobin Disorders in the Classical Hematology Service, Division of Hematology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Dr. Osei specializes in classical hematology with a focus on sickle cell disease and other inherited hemoglobin disorders. She is particularly interested in improving care delivery and transitions of care for individuals with sickle cell disease.
Her research focuses on improving outcomes for patients with sickle cell disease and other inherited hemoglobin disorders, with particular interests in cancer across the disease continuum in hemoglobinopathies, health services and care delivery research, and global sickle cell care.
She earned her medical degree from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and her Master of Public Health in Clinical Effectiveness from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She completed combined residency training in Global Health and Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where she served as Chief Medical Resident for the Global Health program. She completed fellowship through the Hematology-Focused Fellowship Training Program at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Mass General Brigham.
