Biography
Dr. Barron is a Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. In addition to more than 30 years of adult and pediatric cardiac anesthesiology experience, Dr. Barron has held numerous hospital medical staff and University of Miami leadership positions, including being the President of the Jackson Health System Medical Staff, Chief Medical Officer of the UM Medial Group Practice, and UHealth System. In these roles he has implemented many safety, quality, and outcome programs across both health systems. In addition to his varied educational background, Dr. Barron holds a Certificate in Policy Strategy from the Brookings Institution where he continues to be involved in their Global Threats and Regional Challenges Program. He is interested in the development and application of policy to practice and continues to be actively involved in graduate medical education policy being an active member of the AAMC Chief Medical Officer Group and a working member of the National Quality Forum. -
