Dr. Galarza Graduated Medical School from Ponce Health Sciences University-School of Medicine. She then completed a Pediatric Residency with the University of Florida Health Science Center/Jacksonville, followed by a Neonatal-Perinatal Fellowship at St. Louis University Health Science Center, Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. Dr. Galarza is board certified in pediatrics and neonatal/perinatal medicine. In addition, she is an international board-certified lactation consultant and educator.
Dr. Galarza is Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Miller School of Medicine with the University of Miami Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatology since 1997. Dr. Galarza is the Medical Director of NICU D, NICU and Antenatal Palliative Care team Champion and lead. She is also a Jackson Health System Baby-Friendly Designation Physician.
Dr. Galarza has two adult children, Jose and Amanda, and is married to Jose Vazquez. Some fun facts about her are that she loves arts and crafts, camping, hiking, skiing, and yoga.
