Mariya Petrova, Ph.D., is a research assistant professor in the Division of Health Services Research and Policy in the Department of Public Health Sciences. She brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role. With a remarkable career trajectory, Dr. Petrova stands as a licensed mental health clinician in both Florida and New York State, with over 15 years of impactful contributions in the realm of behavioral health interventions for substance use and affect disorders treatment and prevention. Notably, her developed interventions are currently being used by the US Air Force, large health systems, and educational institutions nationwide.
Dr. Petrova has been the principal investigator and director of multiple large multi-site NIH- and DOD-funded randomized controlled trials. She is currently the PI of a large NIDA-funded project investigating the effectiveness of a prescription digital therapeutic for the treatment of stimulant use disorder in HIV care.
