Dr. Marisa Orbea received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received her Medical Degree from Baylor College of Medicine where she participated in the Frontiers in Science Program and received her Diploma in Tropical Medicine in addition to the Medical Student Excellence in Pediatrics Award. She went on to complete a Pediatrics Residency and Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine | Texas Children's Hospital before joining the University of Miami in July 2023. In addition to being a pediatric infectious diseases specialist, Dr. Orbea serves as the medical lead for the Antimicrobial and Diagnostic Stewardship Program and Infection Prevention at Holtz Children's Hospital.
