Upon graduating as a board-certified Family Medicine physician from the UM/JHS Family Medicine Residency Program, Dr. Marilia Nery joined the UM Dept of Family Medicine & Community Health as clinical faculty focusing on illness prevention, chronic disease management, and the promotion of patient well-being across the lifespan. She is particularly fond of caring for those with complex conditions, such as overlapping cardiac, renal, hepatic, and endocrine diseases. Parallel to this, Dr. Nery has a distinct passion for teaching medical students and residents: she currently serves as an instructor and clerkship director in the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine, as the Family Medicine Residency's Assistant Program Director, and greatly enjoys helping learners acquire and hone the clinical skills crucial for delivering top-quality, comprehensive, and above all, compassionate care.
