  I was born in Caracas Venezuela, where I attended Medical School. After graduation I moved to Boston where I completed my Residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship. I obtained my Nephrology degree At Tuft and worked at Brigham and Women hospital and at the University of Massachusetts for years. My areas of interest are teaching and Quality Improvement. I am fluent in Spanish, French and English.

• Teaching Interests

  My CV reflects various teaching activities that I was involved with while at the University of Massachusetts. It was at all levels Medical Students, Residents, Fellows and Faculty. I became one of the mentors for the medical School Learning communities and had as mentees several classes that I followed closely from matriculation to graduation. My teaching was recognize by several teaching awards.
  I have also focus my teaching in quality Improvement, teaching students, residents, fellows and faculty, activities that I have continue after my arrival to UM.

• Research Interests

  I have demonstrated strong commitment to Quality Improvement (QI) of patient care. I have followed all the steps to become one of the few physicians that have completed formal advance training in QI. In June 2015, I obtained my diploma as a Black Belt in Lean. Since 2014 at Umass I have develop and thought QI curriculum to trainees and faculty. In 2016 soon after starting at UM I did the same in Nephrology and in 2017 together with GME, we have develop the: Quality Improvement Project Support Series (QuIPS)”, where we have over 60 physician receiving formal QI training while completing QI projects that are aligned with the institution goals.
