Biography
Dr. Bayes Santos is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics who is highly committed and passionate about fostering learners’ clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills. Her area of interest is in leading process-improvement projects that aim at enhancing patient safety as well as fostering high-value care by implementing evidence-based guidelines and decreasing unnecessary ancillary tests.
Dr. Bayes earned a medical degree from Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos from Lima, Peru, master of clinical epidemiology degree from Stanford University, and certifications in Advanced Process Improvement Methodology from the James M. Anderson Center for Health Systems, and excellence in educational scholarship from a national faculty development program for academic pediatric educators.
Dr. Bayes is the chair of our American Board of Pediatrics sponsored portfolio. In this role, she evaluates departmental QI projects against the ABP standards and grant faculty and residents with MOC part-4 for their meaningful participation in QI. -
