Biography
Kyle Sutherland, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Miami. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida (UCF) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Miami (UM). He completed his residency and Chief Residency in Internal Medicine at UM/Jackson Memorial Hospital (JMH), before joining the faculty in 2024. -

Teaching Interests
Teaching interests include hospital and inpatient medicine, simulation, ultrasound in residency training, the business of medicine, and evidence-based medicine (EBM) practices. With emphasis on practical, hands-on learning, using simulation for real-world experience in a controlled environment, and utilizing ultrasound and other advancing medical technologies to augment the physical exam and clinical decision making. Additionally, interests include integrating the business of medicine and EBM into teaching to prepare future physicians for healthcare's clinical and administrative aspects. -
Research Interests
Research interests lie at the intersection of academic medicine, residency wellness initiatives, quality improvement in the inpatient setting, evidence-based medicine, and health disparities. -
