Biography
Krishna Kishor, MD, is an associate professor of clinical ophthalmology at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Palm Beach Gardens. He completed his undergraduate education at Virginia Commonwealth University(VCU) where he attained a Bachelor of Science. He completed his medical school education at VCU and his residency training in ophthalmology at VCU. This was followed by a fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in glaucoma. To gain international exposure he completed an honorary fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, England. Afterwards he travelled to India and was a member of the visiting faculty at Arasan Eye Hospital in Southern India.
He is past president of the Florida Society of Ophthalmology (FSO). The society represents more than 500 physician members in the state and provides continuing medical education for ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to advance patient care in ophthalmology. Dr. Kishor is the past president of the Florida Glaucoma Society which represents glaucoma specialists in the state of Florida.
In 2011, Dr. Kishor, through the FSO was awarded The Michael R. Redmond, MD Outstanding Young Ophthalmologist Award which recognizes the organizational leadership, service and professional ability in a young Florida ophthalmologist. His professional associations include American Academy of Ophthalmology where he was nominated and completed the Leadership Development Program in 2014. This program helps identify and develop future leaders of the state, subspecialty, and specialized interest societies in ophthalmology. He is a member of the Palm Beach County Medical Society. He was also nominated and completed the Palm Beach County Medical Society Physician Leadership Academy in 2017 which helps physicians who want to improve health care delivery for their patients and communities while also building their leadership skills. -

Teaching Interests
Dr. Kishor has trained and continues to train the next generation of ophthalmologists and research scientists for more than 15 years. Dr. Kishor has been the past clerkship director for the senior elective rotation in ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute on the Palm Beach campus for rotating 3rd and 4th year medical students to help them gain exposure to ophthalmology. At the local, state, national, and international level meetings Dr. Kishor continues to deliver invited lectures. He continues to mentor medical students, clinical fellows, and research fellows in clinical research projects. He also travels internationally to help train and teach ophthalmologists. -
Research Interests
Dr. Kishor has been the recipient of the Leonard and Norma Klorfine Foundation Grant for glaucoma research since 2014. The grant has been used to conduct clinical research.
Dr. Kishor’s research interests include analyzing surgical outcomes from procedures via “big data” to optimize care for patients. -
