Biography
Dr Ciraldo is a double board-certified Family Physician and Addiction Medicine specialist with a focus on harm reduction, women’s health and pregnancy. She is trained to care for pregnant women with substance use disorders with an intradisciplinary approach. Before starting at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in November 2021, she completed the Primary Care Addiction Medicine Fellowship at UCSF/San Francisco General Hospital where she was a prenatal provider with Team Lily, a low-barrier clinic for pregnant patients who were experiencing homelessness, using substances and/or who had serious mental illness. She also worked with the Street Medicine and Shelter Health team to provide primary care and addiction services to people experiencing chronic homelessness. Her interests are in implementation including identification and elimination of barriers to comprehensive care for people who use drugs, including pregnant and postpartum women. As faculty at Miami’s IDEA Exchange, she is a study clinician for research on interventions relating to HIV treatment and prevention as well as buprenorphine treatment for opioid use disorder all embedded within our syringe services program. As medical director of THRIVE, she cares for pregnant patients who have experienced human trafficking and/or have substance use at Jackson. She also serves as Medical Director at Comprehensive Psychiatric Center, two community methadone clinics in Palmetto Bay and Miami Gardens, respectively. She co-directs the Addiction Medicine Rotation for Jackson Internal Medicine residents. Last but not least, she precepts medical students and residents in primary care, prenatal care, and addiction medicine at Jackson, Jefferson Reeves and IDEA Exchange DOCS clinic. -
