Biography
Julia Bini Viotti, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She completed her medical education at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) in Brazil, where she began her career focusing on the treatment of patients with HIV/AIDS. She then completed her Internal Medicine residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, followed by fellowship training in Infectious Diseases and Transplant Infectious Diseases at the University of Miami–Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she now serves as a faculty member.
Dr. Bini plays a critical role in the care of solid organ transplant recipients, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of complex infections in immunocompromised hosts. Her clinical and academic interests include fungal infections, donor-derived infections, and tropical medicine in the transplant setting. She is actively involved in teaching and mentoring residents, and fellows, and is recognized for her collaborative approach to patient care and education.
Dr. Bini is an active member of the American Society of Transplantation (AST), where she currently serves as a Member-at-Large for the AST Trainee & Young Faculty Community of Practice (TYF-COP). In this leadership role, Dr. Bini advocates for the field, promotes professional development, and helps advance education in transplant infectious diseases. -
