Biography
Dr. Joseph Dayan is an Assistant Professor in both the Departments of Anesthesiology and General Pediatrics. He is dual trained and works specifically in the Divisions of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology and Pediatric Critical Care. He is a part of a specialized cardiac team that provide surgical and anesthetic care for children/adults born with congenital heart disease at the Holtz Childrens’ Heart Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. Dr. Dayan is an active educator at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He provides both didactic and hands on clinical training for UM medical students. Furthermore, he is instrumental in helping train the future physicians in the Jackson Memorial Hospital Anesthesiology residency program. Dr. Dayan is a graduate of St. Georges University School of Medicine. He completed a General Pediatrics residency at New York Medical College, Pediatric Critical Care fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami, General Anesthesiology residency at University of Florida, Pediatric Anesthesiology fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Florida, and a Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia at University of Pennsylvania. He currently holds active board certification in all four specialties. -
