Biography
Dr. Jose “Tony” Carugno is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology with AAGL fellowship training in Advanced Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, Laparoscopy, Robotic Surgery and Pelvic Pain. He received his medical degree and completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in his home country at the Maternidad Concepcion Palacios, Central University of Venezuela. Completed his residency in
Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Staten Island University Hospital. He completed his fellowship training in Advanced Gynecologic Surgery, Laparoscopy, Robotic Surgery and Pelvic Pain at Florida Hospital Orlando (AAGL). He then joined the faculty of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at the University of Miami where he currently functions as Director of the Minimally Invasive Gynecologic/Robotic Surgery Unit. He is a faculty member of the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine where is actively involved in medical education. He has a special interest in pain conditions and is a current Board Member of the Pelvic Pain Special Interest Group of the AAGL. -
