Biography
Dr. Jennifer L. Horawski is a dedicated physician specializing in Primary Care Sports Medicine. With a solid foundation in Family Medicine and a wealth of research experience, Dr. Horawski has demonstrated expertise in managing sports-related injuries and conditions, emphasizing the role of physical activity in overall health. She is committed to advancing her field through both clinical practice and scholarly contributions.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Dr. Horawski went to the University of Waterloo and earned her Bachelor of Science in Honors Kinesiology. She proceeded to medical school at Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica. She completed her Family Medicine Residency and Chief Residency at one of the largest Hospitals serving North and South Carolina Grand Strand Medical Center. She then moved down to Miami, Florida and completed a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Horawski has an extensive portfolio of research focused on the intersection of physical activity and chronic conditions such as cancer-induced cachexia. She has presented her work at numerous prestigious conferences, including the FMA David A. Paulus, MD Poster Symposium, the ACSM National Conference, and the AMSSM National Conference. Her notable publications and presentations include systematic reviews on the impact of physical activity interventions.
Dr. Horawski enjoys hockey, swimming, horseback riding, hiking, nature, and photography. She is also an active FIRST Robotics alumna, reflecting her passion for technology and innovation. Dr. Horawski is a passionate advocate for the integration of physical activity in medical treatment, with a strong commitment to patient care and medical education. -

Dr. Horawski’s research interests are centered around the intersection of physical activity and chronic health conditions, with a particular focus on cancer-induced cachexia. She is passionate about exploring how physical activity interventions can mitigate the adverse effects of chronic diseases, enhance patient outcomes, and improve overall quality of life. Dr. Horawski’s work involves evaluating the effectiveness of these interventions, with the goal of integrating evidence-based practices into clinical settings.
