Biography
Dr. Jean M. Panneton earned his medical degree from the University of Montreal QC and completed his General Surgery Residency and Vascular Surgery Fellowship at the University of Montreal and then earned a Vascular Surgery Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN.
Dr. Panneton has held several teaching and administrative positions including Associate Professor of Surgery and Director of Clinical Research in the Division of Vascular Surgery at the Mayo Clinic and Vascular Surgery Chief and Fellowship and Residency Program Director from 2007-2024 at Eastern Virginia Medical School at Old Dominion University in Norfolk VA where he is currently Professor of Surgery. He recently joined the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery.
Dr. Panneton has mentored and taught hundreds of medical students, surgery residents and fellows over the past 30 years and he lectures internationally on a wide range of open and endovascular surgery topics, bringing expertise in the repair of aortic dissection, complex arch vessel reconstruction and thoracic and abdominal endografting. Dr. Panneton has gained national and international recognition as an innovative aortic surgeon and dedicated educator. -

Dr. Panneton has been involved in mentoring and teaching medical students, residents, fellows and practicing surgeons for these 3 decades, which have equipped me with skills in communication, mentorship, and curriculum development. -
