Biography
Jean Jose, DO, MS, is Professor of Clinical Radiology, Orthopedic Surgery, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, with a secondary appointment as Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Miami. He serves as Medical Director of Imaging at the Lennar Foundation Medical Center, Associate Vice Chair for IT, AI and Informatics in the Department of Radiology, Director of Imaging for UHealth Sports Medicine, and Director of Imaging and Team Physician for the Miami Marlins.
He earned his fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at the Hospital for Special Surgery and Weill Cornell Medical College, and is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and licensed in Florida and New York.
Dr. Jose’s clinical and research interests include sports injury imaging of the knee, shoulder and elbow, musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound-guided intervention, peripheral nerve imaging, and the application of artificial intelligence to musculoskeletal imaging. He has authored more than 135 peer-reviewed journal articles and two book chapters and has presented at more than 90 national and international scientific meetings. A dedicated educator, he has received the Henry H. Lerner, MD Award for Teaching Excellence from the University of Miami radiology residency in multiple years and teaches radiology, orthopedic, sports medicine and PM&R trainees, as well as biomedical engineering undergraduate and graduate students. -

Teaching Interests
Beyond his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Jose actively contributes to the University of Miami Institutional Review Board (IRB) Committee and is deeply involved in numerous research studies at UM. His dedication to teaching and his exceptional skills as an attending physician have garnered him multiple teaching awards and recognitions from the departments of radiology and orthopedic surgery. Notably, he has been honored with the teacher of the year award from the University of Miami Department of Radiology on three separate occasions. -
Research Interests
His research focuses on diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal imaging, magnetic resonance imaging of articular cartilage, MSK tumors, and sports-related injuries. Dr. Jose has shared his expertise through an impressive publication record, with more than 105 articles published in peer-reviewed medical journals, co-authored book chapters on orthopedic imaging, and presentations at over 40 national and international medical conferences and more than 50 scientific meetings. -
