Dr. Munoz Mendoza received his medical degree from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima, Peru. He completed internal medicine residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, and fellowship in nephrology at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. After finishing fellowship, he joined the faculty at the University of Miami, Katz Family Division of Nephrology and Hypertension in 2011.
Dr. Munoz Mendoza is currently an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine. He is the medical director of DaVita Miami Campus our main outpatient dialysis unit and has a research interest in the relationships between the non-neoplastic histopathological features and kidney function in patients undergoing nephrectomy and cardiovascular disease in patients with chronic kidney disease.
