Biography
Dr. Ivan Castellon is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he has served on the faculty since 2011. He is also the Medical Director of UHealth Kendall, overseeing radiology services and advancing patient care at the site. Board certified in diagnostic radiology, neuroradiology, and nuclear medicine, he brings extensive expertise across multiple imaging subspecialties.
Dr. Castellon earned his medical degree from the University of Miami and completed residencies in internal medicine, nuclear medicine, and diagnostic radiology, followed by a fellowship in neuroradiology at Jackson Memorial Medical Center. His academic and clinical work spans neuroradiology, emergency and trauma imaging, and nuclear medicine, and he has authored publications in leading journals including Topics in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and the European Journal of Radiology.
In addition to his academic role, Dr. Castellon provides clinical services at UHealth and Jackson Memorial Hospital. He has presented at national and international meetings, including the Radiological Society of North America and the Society of Nuclear Medicine, and has participated in both clinical and translational research projects. He has also served as a representative-at-large on the UMMG Leadership Council.
Dedicated to education, Dr. Castellon teaches diagnostic radiology to medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as technical staff at Jackson Memorial. His leadership at UHealth Kendall and his multidisciplinary expertise make him a vital contributor to the department’s academic and clinical missions. -
