Biography
Hamed Jalaeian, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Interventional Radiology at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Jalaeian obtained his medical degree from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Iran and then pursued postgraduate training in Australia where he practiced as a junior trainee physician. All through his training, Dr. Jalaeian was exposed to minimally invasive treatments by the use of innovative technology performed by Interventional Radiologists which led to his decision in pursuing his medical career within the field of Interventional Radiology. Dr. Jalaeian completed his radiology residency as well as his Vascular and Interventional Radiology fellowship at the University of Minnesota. Subsequently he has worked as an Interventional Radiologist for the University of Massachusetts - Baystate regional campus. Dr. Jalaeian joined as a faculty of University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 2019.
Dr. Jalaeian is certified by the American Board of Radiology. He belongs to several national organizations; including but not limited to the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) where he serves as a member in Early Career Section (ECS committee). Additionally, Dr. Jalaeian is an active researcher and has interest in teaching and academia. His research interests include portal hypertension, transplant interventions, and advanced embolotherapy. He has published research studies in numerous peer reviewed journals and has been serving as a SIR annual meeting abstract reviewer. In addition, he is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Biostatistics. Dr. Jalaeian’s primary areas of clinical practice include hepatobiliary interventions, portal venous hypertension, embolotherapy, transplant interventions, trauma, peripheral vascular disease, and venous interventions. -
