Biography
Dr. Glenda Sosa is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Katz Family Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Sosa obtained her MD degree from Ross University School of Medicine and her Master of Science from Barry University. She completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at Loyola Medicine MacNeal Hospital in Chicago, Illinois and her fellowship training in Nephrology at Jackson Memorial Hospital in affiliation with Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami.
Dr. Sosa was a Staff Physician/Voluntary Faculty at University of Miami Clinical Medicine Division for 3 years before specializing in the field of Nephrology, her lifelong dream.
During her training at JMH/UM Nephrology Fellowship, she focused in Glomerular Disease, by completing simultaneously a one-year GlomCon’s Kidney Pathology Certificate Program, a program focused on renal histopathology, biopsy interpretation, and correlation with glomerular disease clinical management. To continue her GN training, Dr. Sosa is currently enrolled in a GlomCon’s Glomerular Disease Fellowship Program. An advanced virtual fellowship emphasizing diagnosis, management, and personalized therapeutics for glomerular diseases including Membranous Nephropathy, Lupus nephritis, IgA nephropathy, Polycystic Kidney disease, Alport syndrome.
She is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and the Florida Society of Nephrology. Dr. Sosa is dedicated to the development of personized treatment strategies for patients with Glomerular Disease, CKD, HTN, ESKD. She is currently developing her experience by working under the mentorship of many of our GN specialist to become a co-investigator in multiple prospective cohort studies and industry-sponsored clinical trials for patients with glomerular diseases. -
